The PCS Broad Left Network is a network of activists campaigning to return PCS to its socialist and democratic roots. We believe that in order for PCS to successfully represent its members’ interests, it is vital that PCS campaigns on the basis of socialist policies which reflect the class-interests of the membership. Ultimately, we believe that the best vehicle for achieving this is PCS Broad Left Network.
The BLN believes that Left Unity’s historical successes in opposing the right-wing of the union were based not upon personalities, but winning support through the advancement of a socialist program. Gradually however, Left Unity has moved away from this type of campaigning, much to the detriment of the PCS membership.
The BLN is not a formal faction but rather represents a set of principles shared by a large number of activists across the left outside and inside of Left Unity. We are opposed to any attempts made to shut down debate within PCS, along with the growing trend of personalising industrial and politics issues.
BLN is in the process of developing our industrial and political program and will keep you all updated on this via this website and our social media pages. If you would like to register as a supporter of the PCS Broad Left Network, please use the form on our contact page, or email us at…
